Spring is a great time for senior pictures, especially here in Pensacola, Florida. By the time spring season rolls around here, the stress of senior year is largely over with, and the only thing remaining is to make it to the finish line without catching too bad a case of 'senior-itis'! Ruben and his family wanted to make senior year an unforgettable memory with a senior picture session. Here's how it went:
When to get Senior Pictures in Pensacola
Graduation is often the first major milestone in a young person's life. It's a chapter change from childhood to adulthood. Or, in the case of a college senior, from your academic life to your professional one. That said, the best time to get senior pictures done is in the spring or summertime of your senior year. Later in the year is preferable because by this time most exams are over with, the weather is warmer, and you're more likely to have your cap and gown in hand. Occasionally, graduates also prefer to wait until their graduation ceremony is already over with before they get photos done, and that's okay too!
What to wear to a Senior Portrait Session?
One of my favorite things about Senior Portraits is how varied they can be. This is especially true with outfit choice. Being photographed in your cap and gown is the timeless tradition, yes, but you can also use your session to showcase anything from hobbies, extracurricular activities, or to represent the college you'll be attending after high school. When you book with me, I accommodate and encourage multiple outfit changes. In Ruben's session, he took the opportunity to highlight his future university, band membership, and prom tuxedo.
Senior Photo Locations in Pensacola
Similar to outfits, your choice of location for a senior session in Pensacola, Florida can be as unique as you are. The conventional approach is to have your portrait taken in a studio setting or at your campus. While we at Austen Hunter Photography value the conventional photographic approach, we know it can be quite refreshing to break the mold in favor of creative expression.
Ruben and his family were interested in a more creative approach, so we chose Plaza Ferdinand III in downtown Pensacola, with a secondary location behind the Blue Wahoo Stadium for an ocean view portrait. There's plenty of locations in Pensacola for a portrait shoot, some of the more popular locations tend to be here in Downtown Pensacola, Fort Pickens, or Pensacola Beach.
Senior year - a year of big changes and transitions, is a defining time between youth and adulthood. Ruben made his senior year an unforgettable moment with this portrait session. Are you ready to do the same? Get in touch with me to schedule your session.
