Miss America 2025, Abbie Stockard, visited Naval Air Station Pensacola last week to connect with service members and learn about the Navy’s training mission. As part of my role as a Navy Public Affairs Specialist, I had the honor of serving as the official photographer for her visit.

Abbie’s tour included stops at Naval Air Technical Training Center and other tenant commands, where she met with Sailors, Marines, Airmen, and Coastguardsmen undergoing aviation and technical training. The visit highlighted the how the Navy shapes civilians into capable, disciplined warfighters through education, mentorship and world-class training.
It was a fast-paced, high-visibility assignment, but what stood out most was the mutual respect exchanged between a national public figure and the next generation of military leaders. Documenting that interaction—through portraits and candid moments—was a reminder of the trust that comes with this role, and the importance of getting the story right.
To be clear, this assignment was part of my official employment with the US Navy and not affiliated with Austen Hunter Photography. But the standards I brought to that event—timeliness, precision, professionalism—are the same ones I bring to every AHP client session.
Here are a few images from Miss America’s visit to NAS Pensacola:
Thanks to NAS Pensacola and the leadership teams who continue to trust me with documenting these moments.
If you’re a service member marking a milestone or want to preserve your own legacy through portraits, I offer military sessions built on the same respect and attention to detail.
