Austen Hunter Photography Named Official Photographer for USS Pierre Commissioning Ceremony

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (November 15, 2025) - Austen Hunter Photography was honored to serve as one of the official event photographers for the commissioning of the USS Pierre (LCS 38), held in Panama City, Florida. Coordinated by the Navy League of Panama City, the event marked the formal introduction of the Navy’s newest (and last) Freedom-class littoral combat ship.

The ceremony brought together military leadership and national dignitaries, including The Honorable John Thune, U.S. Senator and Senate Majority Leader; The Honorable Ashley Moody, U.S. Senator, Florida; and The Honorable John Phelan, 79th Secretary of the Navy. The event celebrated the ship’s legacy connection to Pierre, South Dakota, and its role in supporting the Navy’s near-shore combat readiness.
