Hi there! I'm Austen Hunter, a passionate photographer based in the beautiful city of Pensacola, Florida. My journey in photography, which began as a self-taught endeavor, has led me to become an internationally published and locally recognized professional. My signature style is characterized by vibrant, posed, clean portraiture, capturing individuals in their best light and revealing their unique personalities. My background as a US Air Force veteran has instilled in me a meticulous attention to detail and an ability to connect with a diverse range of people. I strive to create not just photographs, but lasting memories and stunning works of art.
HOW IT ALL STARTED...
My journey into photography wasn't a conventional one. Though always inclined towards creative expressions like drawing and playing guitar, it was a casual date with my now wife, Sarah, that led me to explore photography. Knowing her love for capturing moments, I borrowed a friend's camera for our museum date. Little did I know, this act would not only enrich our date but also unveil a new avenue of creativity for me. As I delved deeper, I found a particular allure in crafting images with bright off-camera flash, evoking a dramatic flair reminiscent of renaissance paintings.
My time in the Air Force, working in public affairs, allowed me to hone my photography skills further as I captured numerous military moments. The combination of these experiences gradually morphed into a profession, and with Sarah's indispensable support behind the scenes, we've built a thriving photography business. Our humble venture, born from a simple desire to make a date memorable, now serves as a conduit to immortalize precious moments for many.
