I'm known for creating vibrant, posed, traditional photographs that tell beautiful stories and celebrate emotional connections.
I strive to create clean, bold, and graphic images that draw out the beauty of my subject. This typically involves using aesthetically pleasing backgrounds and eliminating any distractions that take the eyes away from the subject. I'm a huge history buff and draw my inspiration from the 'Old Masters' of European Renaissance art. To achieve this, I use traditional compositional techniques and the power of both natural and artificial light.
If there's two things I love in this world; it's challenge and adventure. From Missionary work in Indonesia to humanitarian trips to Pakistan, I have my fair share of adventure stories.
My friends will say I'm funny, charismatic, and have an eye for detail. Of all the things I've seen and done, I love doing photography as it is both challenging and allows me to connect with others.
My Photography Journey
I first picked up a camera in late 2018. My journey into photography started when I borrowed a friend's camera to impress my girlfriend, Sarah. She loved taking pictures, so I knew that getting a camera would be a fun way to bring us closer together. When I lost my job a few months later, I decided that I was going to learn everything I could about photography and start my own business. Now, here I am.
I never knew that photography would be such an enjoyable creative outlet. When I started getting clients and hearing how they loved the photos that I helped them capture, I was hooked. I had found the rewarding, creative line of work that I had been looking for.
Why I Shoot Portraits
There are so many different genres of photography to specialize in, and I always get asked the question, "Why portraits?" For me, the answer is simple: Portraits celebrate life. Whether it's a family, a couple, or an individual, portraits tell the story of who you are and what's important to you. They are a way to cherish loved ones or pass memories on to a future generation. They can also be a form of self-love or self-empowerment. I enjoy portraits because I enjoy people, and helping them create powerful images that tell their story is a rewarding experience that I love, too.
