Kindell's new job as a realtor required him to submit a headshot to his company. Wanting to leave a good impression, he booked with Austen Hunter for his Real Estate headshot session. Here's how it went:

A professional headshot is a required marketing item in today's realty market. With so many realtors to choose from for potential buyers and sellers, if your headshot isn't a professionally-captured, brand-identifying image, you're starting from a position of disadvantage. A quick and affordable headshot was just what Kindell needed for his company. After a brief phone call, we identified that a photography session in my home studio was most appropriate, as he needed a grey background to match the company photo motif.
There's a lot of discussion these days about whether modern real estate headshots should be taken in outdoors or inside, and honestly I don't think there's one right answer to this debate. It comes down to branding. In my opinion, real estate headshots in a studio setting come off as more serious and competent while headshots taken out side appear more personable and friendly. However, the overall look and feel of your headshot image is also going to depend on your outfit, pose, and facial expression in addition to the location. In a social media-driven world, you should ideally have both indoor and outdoor headshots in your portfolio if you can, which is why many professionals are booking personal branding sessions these days instead of just a lone headshot these days.

If you're a realtor getting your headshot taken soon, here's a few tips to prepare for your session:
Make sure you research the photographer and their style before you book.
Wear tailored clothes that fit you well to your session.
Get your hair cut and styled before the shoot.
Practice your expressions and poses the week before the session.
Get plenty of rest the night before!
