Recently, I was invited to photograph the wedding of a local model I had worked with in the past. Here's how Julian and Leorosa's wedding album turned out:
Wedding Photographer in Pensacola
Weddings are how I got started in Photography. When I joined the Air Force, I stepped back from doing weddings as it was impossible to guarantee my availability for distant wedding dates. Now that my active duty service commitment is ending, I am once again free to book them (which I'm pretty excited about).
Pensacola and its surrounding area offer many romantic venues to tie the knot. Not surprisingly, It's a fabulous place to get married on the beach! Pensacola and Navarre beach are incredible locations to conduct a beach wedding. If the beach isn't your thing, there's also choice between various scenic pastures and orchards as a romantic wedding location. Molino Orchards is a great spot for those seeking to wed at a dreamy, peaceful venue.
Is Wedding Photography worth it?
Well, you are asking a wedding photographer, so forgive me if my answer seems predictable - but yes, it's so, so worth it. In fact, I'd even argue that it's probably one of the few things you should absolutely splurge on when it comes to your special day. The reason being is this: The smells, sights and emotions you experienced on that day will fade in your memory with time, but a good photographer will keep those cherished memories as fresh and as vivid as the day you experienced them.
There's also the real possibility of experiencing regret if you don't choose the right photographer, as well. Because you'll be stuck with those photos of your wedding day, for better or worse. So the best practice is to choose a photographer you trust, who has a style you appreciate, and pay their asking price.
Julian and Leorosa's Wedding
I met Julian and Leorosa in Pensacola last year during a photoshoot. You may remember her from our Greek Goddess Portrait Session, where I cast her as Eris, the Goddess of Discord. Naturally, they felt that I'd be the best choice to document their wedding.
Julian and Leorosa's wedding took place at their family estate, which had a large dry creek-bed on the property. The big day started with the bride and groom getting ready for the ceremony in separate rooms in the family home. Shortly before the ceremony, the couple decided to do a faux first look (this is a cute trend that involves the couple holding hands or otherwise being next to one another without actually seeing their partner - it's very cute!) before heading down to the creek where they would tie the knot.
Shortly after this shot was taken, the couple separated once again and made their way toward to creek for the ceremony. They said their vows overlooking the creek, which was quite grandiose and majestic - definitely not the little stream I thought it would be during our phone call prior to the event! Afterwards, we took family portraits and romantics before heading back to the house for some cake cutting and speeches before wrapping up for the day.
